The Experiences
Events Tailored to Your Group
Looking for events to meet new people in Lisbon or Porto? We organize two curated activities per month for your group. What those events are depends entirely on who you are — your interests, your availability, your vibe.
Guided Hike
A half-day hike through the hills around Lisbon or Porto. No experience needed — just comfortable shoes and good conversation.
Yoga or Pilates
An outdoor yoga or pilates session at sunrise or golden hour, either in the park or on the beach. Guided by a local instructor, open to all levels — including complete beginners.
Padel
A fun, beginner-friendly padel session. Pairs rotate so everyone plays with everyone. No previous experience required — that's the point.
Picnic in the Park
A relaxed afternoon in one of Lisbon or Porto's city parks. Everyone brings something to share. Good food, good company, no agenda.
Kayaking or SUP
A session on the river or sea by kayak or stand-up paddleboard. A great way to see the city from a completely different angle.
Cycling Tour
A leisurely group ride through the city or along the coast. Bikes provided. No cycling experience beyond the basics required.
Roller Skating
Rent some skates and roll along the scenic waterfront promenade. A breezy and fun afternoon with plenty of laughs and fresh air.
Pedipaper (Scavenger Hunt)
A team-based scavenger hunt through the historic streets of the city. Solve riddles, discover hidden corners, and work together to win.
Beach Day Trip
A classic day trip to the beaches near Lisbon or Porto. Swim, lay on the sand, play beach tennis, and grab a cold drink with the group.
Surf Class
Catch some waves with a group lesson at a local surf school. Ideal for complete beginners to learn the basics, and seasoned surfers to practice.
Azulejo Tile Painting
A hands-on workshop where you design and paint your own traditional Portuguese azulejo tile. No artistic skill required — just willingness to play.
Pottery Workshop
An evening of clay, wheel-throwing, and laughter at a local ceramics studio. You leave with something you made yourself — and a story to tell.
Photography Walk
A guided walk through a neighbourhood with a shared creative prompt. No professional camera needed — your phone is more than enough.
Improv Theatre Workshop
A beginner-friendly improv session run by a local theatre company. Surprisingly good for breaking the ice and building real trust fast.
Escape Room
Your group has 60 minutes to solve the mystery. A brilliant way to build trust fast — and find out who stays calm under pressure.
Board Game Night
An evening at a local board game café. We bring the group; they bring the games. Competitive, silly, and surprisingly good for deep conversation.
Film Night + Discussion
A film screening followed by a guided group discussion. The film is chosen based on the group's taste. Expect strong opinions and better conversations.
Live Music or Fado Evening
A night out at a local live music venue or a traditional fado house. Shared emotion is one of the fastest ways to bond.
Live Concert
Head to a local music hall, jazz club, or outdoor gig. Experiencing live performance together is a powerful catalyst for friendship.
Minigolf Match
A friendly game of minigolf at a local course. Low-stakes competition, high-value conversation, and plenty of lighthearted banter.
Dance Class or Night Out
From a private group salsa lesson to exploring a local dance floor. The easiest way to shake off any remaining social awkwardness.
Karaoke Night
Book a private room or perform on the main stage. Nothing bonds a group like singing classic anthems together and cheering each other on.
Wine & Cheese Tasting
A guided tasting of Portuguese wines paired with regional cheeses. No prior knowledge needed — just curiosity and a willingness to have a second glass.
Cooking Class Together
A hands-on cooking class at a local kitchen. You cook together, then eat what you made. Portuguese recipes preferred — but the group decides.
Street Food Market Tour
A guided tour of one of Lisbon or Porto's best food markets. Graze, explore, and argue about which pastel de nata is actually the best.
Group Dinner
A cozy table at a handpicked local tasca or restaurant. Good food, sharing plates, and hours of relaxed, flowing conversation.
Something else?

Events are chosen based on your group's shared interests — no two Circles are the same. Your questionnaire answers shape what you'll experience together.
Frequently Asked Questions
We look at the shared interests across your group — based on what everyone selected in the questionnaire — and choose activities that make sense for your specific mix of people. An arty group might get an azulejo painting session; a sporty group might get a hike or padel. No two Circles are the same.
We organise two events per month throughout the four months your Circle runs. That's eight shared experiences in total — enough for friendships to genuinely form. Events are usually spread across the month so availability conflicts are less likely.
Joining The Circle is completely free. For each event, every person pays their own entry. Costs vary depending on the activity — a picnic in the park might be free, while a pottery workshop might cost €25–40. We always communicate the cost in advance so there are no surprises.
Life happens. Let your group know in advance and we'll make note of it. Missing one event won't affect your place in the Circle — your group continues and you're included in all future events. We do ask for reasonable commitment though: attending most events is what makes the friendships work.
Each Circle has between 5 and 8 people. This size is intentional: small enough to feel intimate and build real familiarity, large enough to have varied conversation and absorb the occasional absence without the group feeling depleted.
We currently run Circles in Lisbon and Porto. Events take place in accessible city-centre locations or just outside the city when the activity calls for it (like a hike). When you apply, you'll tell us your city — and we'll only match you with people nearby.
Absolutely. After the first few events, groups often start naturally organising their own activities between the curated ones. We love it when that happens — it's a sign the friendships are real. You can always suggest ideas and we'll take them into account when planning future events.
To celebrate your journey, we organize a "Circle Graduation" after your eight events. We are currently exploring the idea of helping groups organize a weekend getaway together to mark the occasion and solidify the bonds you've built. After that, you keep the friendships — that's the whole point. If you want to expand your social network further, you can apply to join a new Circle while remaining in touch with your original group.
